NATURAL MEDICINE

The aim of Natural Medicine, including Acupuncture is to bring balance and harmony to the body so that health and well-being are optimised.

As a Naturopath first and foremost, I take the whole picture into consideration as a thorough consultation is conducted before any treatment, herbal or lifestyle advice is provided.  I will then discuss treatment options that would best suit your individual situation so that you feel fully informed and supported in the process.

HERBAL MEDICINE

For Herbal prescriptions, I personally blend all tinctures, teas and powders in my own dispensary therefore guaranteeing the correct herbs and dosages are supplied for your unique personal needs.  Herbal medicine is safe and effective and I ensure that all herbs provided are not contraindicated with any current medications you may be taking.  Although I offer both modalities of Herbal medicine (including Bach Flowers) and Acupuncture as I believe they work synergistically, my patients are under no obligation to undertake both as I offer them as separate treatments.

ACUPUNCTURE

Acupuncture is a healthcare system dating back over two thousand years and it looks at pain and illness as signs of the body being out of balance.  Therefore, the principle aim of treatment is to restore the body to its natural balance.

Acupuncture is uniquely suited to our modern lives as it recognises our mental, physical and emotional health as being interdependent and our training ensures we look at all symptoms, how they relate to each other and their root cause.

Acupuncture treatment focuses on the individual and not their illness and therefore each treatment is unique to that individual.

Acupuncture treatment involves inserting ultra-fine needles into specific acupuncture points which are left in position for approx. 30 minutes depending on the required result.  In addition to this, having been trained in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), I also use cupping therapy which uses sterilised glass cups placed on the skin to create a suction that is very effective in treating and releasing pain and stagnation.  It is also effective in improving sleep, reducing stress and stimulating circulation.  I also use Gua Sha therapy which is another traditional method involving scraping the skin with a natural massage tool to increase or improve circulation and releasing stagnation or tension.

I am also trained in Electro-Acupuncture which uses a small electrical current attached to the needles.  This is used to augment regular Acupuncture and it is particularly good for treating pain, muscular tension or stagnation as it increases blood flow and circulation to the troubled area.

Being treated by Debbie was an unforgettable healing experience. She is extremely knowledgeable and calm and is the only person to have successfully resolved my prevailing issues in the last 15 years. Her acupuncture technique and manor is outstanding with a professionalism to match. As a direct result of the treatments I have received, I am not only pain free but also have never felt so balanced within myself. I highly recommend Debbie without hesitation, she is a blessing.
